Time with Gus

Demeter opens the door out into her garden where the moon's out and its starting to get hot and humid.

Everywhere something is blooming and the scents fill the air as Demeter smiles and leads Gus to a table set out in a little grove of trees.

"I know legends..." he chuckles half a breath into her hair, nuzzling against her. "But no, I bet I don't."

Still, it's different when he wants to be good enough to be in the same bed with her... with a Goddess - someone that by all means doesn't have to pay attention to people like him.

She kisses his chest, "Then believe me when I say, I want you and don't think you dirty or awful."

She wants him, and that puts him right back to where he was when Lucifer was so poised to ensnare him - being wanted. Having someone desire him.

A weak smile crosses his lips and he asks quietly; "You still want me?"

"Yes, Gus. I'll tell you and show you however much it takes to get you to believe that you're of worth."

With a slow shudder, he noses against her and pressed a kiss against her lips.

"You don't have to, Dem..." he sighs. "I... I already feel amazing just being here."

She kisses him and rubs his back,

"There's time for whatever you want tonight, Gus or need. You should get some sleep but it doesn't have to be now."

Pushing himself closer against her, his lips find the soft skin under her ear. What he wanted was the eternal question lately, he wants to feel loved and like he's not alone in the world - if only for that tiny fraction of time between trouble and a little more trouble.

"I want you," he whispers softly, squeezing her tight to his chest.

She shifts to meet his eyes and kiss him to show him taht she wants him here and now.

Gus can't help but blush, his face and body warming against the suggestion as much as her gentle kiss.

"Dem..." he sighs, rocking his hips against her as he holds back a shudder.

"I know, Gus," Demeter smiles as she easily closes the small distance between them, pressing herself to him.

Of course she knows... she always knows. What he wants, what he needs...

Inhaling the increasingly familiar earthy scent good and deep, he lets her guide him without the awkwardness of before - his hands stroking gently over her skin. "Thank you..." he whispers, staring at her in the dim room.

She kisses him and moves with him, trying to make him happy for tonight.

Morning comes with late, warm sunshine across their skin - waking him with the easy weight of her in his arms, intertwined with him fully.

It was the sort of moment he missed, the sort of moment he couldn't wait to share with someone he could share his life with completely in a way that he understood they never could together.

When she wakes up, she looks up at him and beams, this is how he should feel all the time,

"Good morning."

"The best," he murmurs against her, nuzzling into her soft curls. "Last night was... amazing."

[wheatencrown]

"Good, I'll go get us some croissants and make coffee before I put you to work. We can do some harvesting today and weeding. The bathroom's right over there and should have everything you need,"

She kisses him before stepping out of bed and finding a clean dress.

Mmm, coffee... yes. Coffee and a shower would be amazing.

Coming up behind her for one last warm embrace and kiss, Gus slips off to take care of that in preparation for the day.

It's amazing how much he looks forward to working with her, usually words like 'harvesting' and 'weeding' translated to 'hard work' that he'd rather not be doing - but with Demeter? Sounds like a great way to spend the morning before head back to Juliet's party.

The house is full of light and plants, the soaps and shampoos in the shower are all scented with local lavender and citrus.

From downstairs there's soon the smell of coffee and freshly baked bread.

Following his nose, a happily lavender-scented Gus makes his way downstairs to the kitchen.

"Mmm, a guy could get used to this... I'm surprised you don't have to beat men off with a stick."

"Not everyone comes here and I can find men when I want them,"

She prefers having her time and space with her daughter and then visits mixed in. There are warm croissants, jams made from the orchard and garden and hot coffee.

He nods, warmed and honestly feeling a little bit special for being in both those high groups.

"I've, uh... I've been thinking about some of the stuff we talked about last night. I think, maybe I need to cut out certain things in my life." He looks down into a warm, flaky croissant smeared with a daub of sweet jam, hoping it's clear enough he means Her... the thing he shouldn't have let himself get wrapped up into.

"Good, it won't be easy but you'll do better for it, Gus."

He nods again, taking a large bite and chewing slowly. After a long quiet, he admits; "I'm... I'm a little scared, I mean... she's... you know."

Scary.

[wheatencrown]

"Have you made any promises to her? Do you have any debts with her? If you don't then I think you should be fine. Don't let her scare you or use you, that's what she wants."

[thesupersmeller]

"No," he shakes his head; "I don't think so, I mean... she fixed my wrist, but I never asked her to."

He's thought considerably about anything that could have been construed as a contract. If popular culture has taught him anything it's that you should never sign anything from the Devil. And avoid Georgia.
