"I'll let her know and anyone else who asks." Really against his better judgment, and possibly in a fit of blatant stupidity, he leans forward and brushes his mouth with hers once more. "I'll be there when you need me. I promise."

When Clark has stood as well, she walks with him to the front door, studiously ignoring the curious eyes of her sisters.
